Courtside privacy.
This covers the Courtside app. The notice for my-rackets.com itself is separate and lives at /legal.
1. Who we are
My Rackets Ltd, Ebenezer House, 5a Poole Road, Bournemouth BH2 5QJ, United Kingdom. Company no. 10747519. ICO registration ZB140296. info@my-rackets.com.
2. We don't run a server
Courtside has no backend. It makes no network calls of its own, carries no third-party SDKs, and contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Match data you record is not sent to My Rackets.
Your matches sit on your device and sync through the private database of your own iCloud account. That's Apple's storage, tied to your Apple Account. We can't read it.
There's no Courtside account or sign-up, and no Courtside password.
3. What the app stores
- Matches you record: scores, date, format, your notes, and the names you type for the people you play with.
- People you save: names, notes, handedness, self-entered level, and style label.
- Venue, if you allow location: a name, coordinates, and a small map image, captured once at the start of a match.
That app data stays on your device and, if iCloud is on, in your private iCloud database. See section 5 for Health data and values synced by earlier app versions.
4. Permissions
- Location. Optional. Read once when a match starts, to suggest the venue name and save the map image. Courtside doesn't track you in the background.
- Camera. Optional. Used only while you build a share card. The picture is held in memory to draw the card, the app never saves it, and it goes only where you choose to send the finished image.
- Health, on iPhone and Apple Watch. Optional. Courtside reads workout data on both devices. The Watch records workouts and reads live heart rate and active energy; the iPhone reads workout summaries and heart-rate samples from Apple Health when needed. Say no and the match still scores normally.
Withdraw any of these at any time in iOS Settings, or in the Watch app.
5. Health data
The updated iPhone and Apple Watch apps read heart rate, calories and distance from Apple Health when needed. This version no longer writes these metrics, including per-point heart-rate values, to Courtside's private iCloud database. Both apps ask for Health permission. Apple's Health syncing is separate from Courtside's match syncing.
Values synced by earlier versions may remain in your private iCloud database. Updating Courtside does not delete those historical values or old local data and backups. Older installed versions may continue syncing them, so update Courtside on both your iPhone and Apple Watch.
Heart-rate views can be reconstructed from available Apple Health samples. Gaps may appear when samples are unavailable, and historical results may differ from the live readings shown during a match.
Courtside may keep Apple's opaque workout identifier with a match so the app can find the corresponding workout in Apple Health on your device. The identifier does not include heart rate, calories or distance.
6. Other people's names
Recording who you played with means storing something about another person. It stays in your iCloud and we never see it. Keep it to what you actually need, and delete someone if they ask you to.
7. Your control
There's no account, so we hold nothing to erase on your behalf. Delete a match, a person or a note in the app and it goes from your synced devices. You can manage Courtside's iCloud data in Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Account Storage. Apple Health data is managed separately in the Health app. Updating or deleting Courtside does not establish that historical iCloud values or backups have been erased.
8. Children
Courtside isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.
9. Changes
If what the app does with your data changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves.
